Pulses of light target pigment around the bulb of the hair follicle. This pigment is more prominent during the active growth phase of the hair. Approximately 20% of the hair present is in the active growth phase at any given time. Thus, it requires a minimum of 6 treatments to obtain close to 100% hair reduction.

 

 

      Preparing For Treatment:

Avoid waxing, plucking or depilatory creams for 4 weeks prior to treatment.

Shave the treatment area 1-2 days before treatment. Just leave enough stubble that we can see the target area.

Avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, spray tans or tanning lotions during the course of your treatment.

 

 

      Expectations:

 

With each treatment you will notice less and less hair growing back. The hair that does grow will be thinner, finer hair.

Most patients receive 6 treatments performed 6 weeks apart for the face and neck and 6-8 weeks apart for the body. The duration of each individual treatment will depend on the area being treated.
