BOTOX®/DYSPORT® is a wonderful treatment for many things both cosmetic as well as medical. Here at Mélange, we treat only cosmetic concerns. Botox/Dysport is the gold standard when it comes to treating fine lines and wrinkles between the brows, the “crows feet” around the eyes, and is often used in other areas as well.
BOTOX®/DYSPORT® is both corrective AND preventive, so I generally advise clients to begin treatment sooner rather than later, to prevent the wrinkles from becoming deeper and more pronounced. We take a more conservative approach to how much is given initially because you can always add more but you can’t take it out! A 2 week follow up appointment is recommended for optimal results.
BOTOX®/DYSPORT® is typically done a minimum of 90 days apart. Some clients may get a longer lasting effect and only need treatment every 4-6 months. Your provider can best advise you.
Results typically last anywhere from three months to a year. You will need follow-up injections to help maintain your new smoother appearance. Once you know how long the results last, you can schedule your next round to make sure the fine lines and wrinkles don't reappear.
The average length of time BOTOX®/DYSPORT® lasts is 3 months” depending on individual metabolism. At Melange Beauty, we recommend you schedule your appointments every 90 days to maintain optimal results.
“Prevention is easier than correction”, so starting Botox before the lines get too deep is ideal. We tell our clients if they can see lines without making an expression, then it’s time to start Botox.
Results are NOT IMMEDIATE. Approximately 3-5 days after injection, you will begin to notice a gradual decrease in your ability to make the expression in the treatment area. The BOTOX®/DYSPORT® reaches its peak effect at 14 days. This is the optimal time for any touch-ups that may be needed.
